Alitalia will pay one per cent commission to all Italian travel agencies, starting on 1 January, 2016. Payments will be made via the BSP system which offers travel agents an immediate recognition for the purchase of the airline ticket.
Nicola Bonacchi, Vice President Italy Sales at Alitalia, said, "This is an important step in Alitalia's strategy to build and maintain a strong relationship with travel agents. As well as the commission payment we are keen to further enhance our commercial engagement in Italy. Alitalia has 40 people located throughout Italy whose job is dedicated to the travel trade. Agents and tour operators have an important role to play for us and our tangible support provides the trade with personal relationships that are set to develop for mutual benefit”.
