With effect from 1 March, Thomas Stöckl will hand over management of the Finance Department at HDI Global Specialty to Dr Christian Hermelingmeier. The Supervisory Board already appointed Dr Hermelingmeier to
the Executive Board of HDI Global Specialty SE as Managing Director as of 1 January 2023. Dr Hermelingmeier will carry out this function alongside his role as Chief Financial Officer at HDI Global SE. Thomas Stöckl will leave the company by best mutual consent in order to tackle new career challenges.
The departure of Thomas Stöckl opens up the opportunity for the two Finance Departments to work closer together. “We expect the uniform management to promote significant enhancement for the operational cooperation within Finance over the medium term, to contribute to improving our position with respect to the competition and assist us in achieving our ambitious goals,” commented Ulrich Wallin, Chairman of the Board of Directors at HDI Global Specialty SE. On behalf of the entire Board of Directors, he thanks Thomas Stöckl for his work: "Mr Stöckl has built up and further developed the company's finance division and realigned it strategically. We thank him for this and wish him all the best professionally and privately."
Dr Christian Hermelingmeier, an equally experienced financial expert, will lead the Finance Department of HDI Global Specialty SE. “I’m excited about the close partnership with all employees, and I’m convinced that together we can continue the success story of HDI Global Specialty SE”, said Dr Hermelingmeier. He gained experience in Industrial Lines insurance as Head of Operational Controlling at HDI Global SE from 2016 until the middle of 2018.
Thomas Stöckl is leaving the company after nine years. Over this period, he has worked in a variety of positions, including at Hannover Rück SE, Inter Hannover SE and HDI Global Specialty SE. “During this time, Thomas Stöckl and his team made a significant contribution to the continuous growth of the company, and supported the relocation of the headquarters from London to Hannover through his far-sighted approach at a pivotal point. He also played an integral part in the conversion and strategic realignment of Inter Hannover to HDI Global Specialty SE as a joint venture. We would like to take this opportunity to thank him for his outstanding work and wish him all the best in both his personal and professional life,” said Ralph Beutter, Member of the Board of Management at HDI Global SE and Chief Executive Officer at HDI Global Specialty SE.
