In line with its aim to further expand the Captive solutions business internationally, HDI Global is appointing Jason Tyng to the newly created role of Lead of U.S. Captive Solutions. Tyng will guide the strategic and operational plans for
this critical function. Given the importance of the U.S. market to the Captive solutions business, this decision is in line with HDI Global’s strategy to offer industrial clients tailor-made solutions and services on a global scale whilst maintaining local client proximity.
Bringing more than 15 years of sales and leadership experience across the commercial insurance industry, Tyng joins HDI Global from Amazon, where he recently served as Head of Construction Risk, handling placements of both international and domestic programs.
Dr Thomas Kuhnt, member of the board of HDI Global SE responsible for Captive services, highlights the appointment: “While in Europe we are already a leading Captive player, building up our presence in the U.S. with Jason is part of our global growth strategy. For us, it is crucial to stay close to our clients and build on local expertise to understand their needs. We can then help our clients in finding the most suitable traditional or non-traditional solutions for risks that the classical insurance market struggles to cover.”
Over the last three years, HDI Global’s Captive Services have enjoyed great success, with a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of ceded premiums to Captives averaging 26 %. The German-based industrial insurer offers a holistic approach to Captives: Its international network provides local policy issuance, ensuring global compliance. On a global scale, multi-disciplinary experienced risk engineers use the latest technology and industry best practices to help Captives to reduce risk and improve financial performance. In addition, HDI Global is able to deploy non-traditional risk-management solutions utilising a dedicated team of alternative risk transfer experts.
Tyng stresses: “As a Captive partner, our goal is to provide holistic, long-term management across multiple lines of business – be it Property, Liability, Marine or Cyber. Our clients often conduct international business. With us, they have the knowledge and confidence to choose a risk management team that will work with them to find the best solution that fits their organization in the long term.”
