On the occasion of the 30th Anniversary of relations between the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of San Marino, the Ambassador of the Republic of San Marino to Croatia, Marina Emiliani, announces the concert of the San Marino Choral "Song For Friends" to be held in Zagreb,
next October 15th. This cultural event is organized in collaboration with the San Marino Interparliamentary Friendship Group San Marino-Croatia and the Croatian Interparliamentary Friendship Group Croatia-San Marino. Corale San Marino was founded in 1960 by M° Cesare Franchini Tassini and began performing at religious services at the Basilica del Santo; under the direction of M° Padre Gaspare Stipa, a composer and organist, the choir then expanded its repertoire with music of sacred, profane and folkloric inspiration, holding numerous concerts in Italy and abroad. Since 1991, the choir has been directed by M° Fausto Giacomini and during the last thirty years, the choir's activity expanded further through the realization of symphonic-choral productions, from classical to jazz, from pop to rock, and from sacred to profane.
This event is made possible through the support of Banca Kovanica d.d., a Croatian bank established in 1997 under the name of Štedionica Kovanica. Headquartered in the baroque city of Varaždin, the bank today has a network of 12 branches in the larger cities of the Republic of Croatia, including the capital city of Zagreb. Cassa di Risparmio della Repubblica di San Marino S.p.A. has been the majority shareholder since 2007: with more than 130 years of banking tradition, today’s state-owned credit institution is the oldest banking group in the Republic of San Marino.
